I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 2010.

After visiting a number of different doctors who would plainly tell me that they did not know what was wrong with me. I was told that my symptoms existed only in my mind. I now have a good regiment of medications prescribed by my Psychiatrist and my doctor.

A flare is when symptoms of a chronic illness become excruciatingly painful and “flare up”.

I am blessed and fortunate that I can still be working an 08:00 to 16:30 day, I know there are those who can’t. Having said that, it is very challenging. When I have flares, I’m down … I mean down!

I have an amazing support structure at home with hubby and my adult children. My colleagues are very understanding and sympathetic.

My greatest wish is that neither of my children get it!
